Class of 2015

Awarded the William Cullen Medal from the University of the Witwatersrand

Huge congratulations to SAHETI alumnus Andreas Hadjipaschalis (Class of 2015) for being awarded the William Cullen Medal from the University of the Witwatersrand. This medal is awarded annually to the most distinguished Bachelor of Science graduand in the Faculty of Science. It was endowed in 1929 by William Cullen, Hon LLD (Witwatersrand).

Andreas also received the following awards:

• Element Six Diamond Research Lab & DST/NRF Centre of Excellence in Strong Materials Medal: This medal is awarded annually for outstanding performance in Physics III.
• The Rose and Irving Saff Mathematics Prize: this prize is awarded for achievement in Mathematics I, II and III.
• The Douglas Sears Mathematics Prize: this prize is awarded for outstanding performance in the third year of study in Pure Mathematics.

Andreas graduated in a Bachelor of Science, majoring in Physics and Mathematics as well as sub-major in Astrophysics. He is currently studying Honours in Physics. Well done to Andreas, these are all exceptional awards and he clearly stood out as being one of the very best!
