On the morning of 4 October, 14 alumni from our class of 2009 met up at the Pouroulion Building for our 10 year reunion. It felt like coming home.
We toured the school grounds, from the High school to the Pre-Primary school, filled with different emotions. It’s hard to describe the overwhelming sense of nostalgia we all felt being back on SAHETI grounds. The sight of the Big Avli, our nursery school classrooms, the sports field and the swimming pool brought back vivid memories of early morning Midmar training in freezing cold water, sunny athletics days, playing at break on the fields, school plays, assemblies, prefect elections and OXI day.
These memories stay comfortably seated in our souls, like old friends. The school has changed: there are beautiful new buildings that we didn't recognise, such as the English block, the new art classroom, the upgraded Hellenic Centre, the Pouroulion Building, and the outstanding new look of the library wowed us. These will be home to the new generation of SAHETIANS, including our very own children - which will create unique and cherished memories for them too.
