On 4 March 2017, the 24th annual SAHETI Rugby Sevens and Netball Festival took place. Some 28 rugby teams and 34 netball teams representing 21 schools participated in this popular annual event. As tradition has it, SAHETI Alumni proudly came forward to make up the Rugby and Netball teams and played their hearts out in what was a highlight of the programme. This year we introduced a Best Player award, which was well received by the Alumni present, judging from the reaction when the winners were announced.
On the sidelines, the Alumni hospitality area included a photo display of past Alumni rugby and netball teams. As usual, this attracted much attention as the participants and guests spotted fellow Alumni friends and family members who had been part of the Festival over the years. Once again, unforgettable memories were made at the 2017 event, and we look forward to welcoming many more players and spectators next year.
