A reunion with a difference! It all started from a message in cyberspace. Sharon Sheather and Tanya (Van Zyl) Cairns started the ball rolling by creating a Facebook page to get a 30 year reunion underway. Most of their class mates are all over the world but nothing could stop these eager ladies from whipping this new form of reunion into shape.

And so the journey commenced. They devoted an enormous amount of time to tracking most of their class mates and connecting with long lost friends. They shared updates which covered everything from sharing pictures, stories, comments and contact information with friends. All this brought back great memories of great times.

Despite the distance this group of Alumni once again displayed that SAHETIANs are unique. And although there was no fancy venue or fancy dinner and speeches this cyberspace reunion brought this class together. Sharing laughter and tales, embarrassing moments and moments in time that remained etched in their memory. This made the effort really worthwhile.

Let’s aim to have the 40th reunion at SAHETI with all the Alumni visiting from across the globe.
