THE IMPORTANCE OF BEING A SAHETI ALUMNUS

The purpose of the SAHETI Alumni Association is to foster a spirit of loyalty and to promote the general welfare of the school. The Alumni Association exists to support the school’s goals, and to strengthen the ties between alumni, the school, and the greater community.

Over the past few years, the SAHETI Alumni Association has continued to expand its efforts in reconnecting with alumni from all decades. SAHETI now has over 2,300 alumni living in all four corners of the globe; working in every type of profession imaginable. Being an Alumnus/a offers the benefits of accessing a network of career professionals and mentors; social development activities such as fundraisers; and most importantly, remaining true to your roots and in touch with your Alma Mater.

The Alumni Association is currently involved in approximately 10 events annually (and growing) including networking opportunities, alumni sporting events, Careers Day, reunions, and of course, our fund raisers. All are designed to allow alumni to stay in touch, network and have a good time. The Alumni Association has a presence on Facebook, Linkedln, and lnstagram where you can get the latest news on what is going on with the association. The SAHETI Alumni newsletter is available twice a year and showcases the reunions, fundraisers as well as the achievements of our alumni.

We continue to support the case for giving to the SAHETI Alumni Association. Through monetary donations or volunteerism, the generosity and commitment of alumni makes a real difference in the experiences accessible to SAHETI pupils, which only helps to grow SAHETl’s reputation as a leader in education.

The SAHETI Alumni Support Fund was established by our dedicated and passionate alumni committee members: a fund dedicated to helping children of Alumni who are in financial need, remain at SAHETI. Our SAHETI Alumni Committee members have one main goal, and that is to make a difference in a child’s future at SAHETI, and they put much time and effort into achieving this worthwhile cause.

It is important to note that the SAHETI Alumni constitution states that: “an ‘Alumnus’, ‘Alumna’ or ‘Alumni’ shall mean a student/s who attended or graduated from the school”. This means that Alumni include all children who have attended SAHETI at some point and not only those who have matriculated.

We invite you to get involved in your own way- the possibilities are endless. Don’t hesitate in sharing any ideas you might have. Whether you have time to serve as an alumni committee member, come back as a Careers Day speaker, attend an alumni fundraiser, or assist with your class reunion. Nominating a fellow alumnus/a, to be featured in our newsletters and social media platforms are also ways to stay connected.
