Scholar's Pledge |
| As a scholar of SAHETI School, I acknowledge the fact that I have a unique opportunity to enjoy a quality education. I also acknowledge that, in such an environment, I am able to pursue my studies in a highly motivating, secure and fruitful ambience. |
Furthermore, I realise that the school's ethos is underpinned by the need to promote human rights at every opportunity. I know that, in order to honour the ethos of SAHETI School and be worthy of the benefits it offers, I must accept certain responsibilities; therefore, with the rights of each individual in mind, I agree to:
|
- acknowledge and respect the Greek Ethos.
- attend celebratory occasions (e.g. Greek National Day), sporting and cultural events at the discretion of the school.
- follow my studies with unwavering dedication and diligence.
- share my talents with others, contributing and expressing my opinions with honesty and openness, yet always politely.
- make every possible effort to attend school every day and attend all classes during the course of the school day.
- to do my utmost to arrive at school punctually and to arrive at each lesson timeously.
- respect the dignity and individuality of all scholars, educators and auxiliary staff.
- be considerate and supportive in my actions towards all scholars and staff.
- show exemplary courtesy to visitors to the school, always seeking to promote harmonious relations.
- behave in a exemplary manner when representing the school and when in the public eye.
- respect the rights of others to enjoy a litter-free environment.
- be responsible towards, and respect, my own possessions.
- display good sportsmanship by encouraging team spirit, being respectful towards opponents and focusing on the enjoyment of the activity rather than on the competition itself.
- respect all people, regardless of difference in colour, creed, religion or culture.
- exercise honesty in all my actions, e.g. work handed in, homework, tests, exams, participation in sporting activities, etc.
- wear the correct school uniform with pride and as prescribed by the rules set out by the school, both on and off the school premises.
- preserve and protect school property entrusted to me both in the classroom and outside.
- avoid actions or entertain thoughts which may disrupt lessons or in any way violate the educator's right to teach and my peers' right to learn in a happy environment.
- avoid aggressive / violent behaviour in all situations.
- avoid engaging in any activity that may jeopardise the safety/security of other persons.
- refrain from bringing harmful, illegal substances, dangerous objects or offensive material - which will threaten not only my moral standards but also the moral standards of others - to school.
- avoid ever stealing, damaging, or moving the property of others under false pretences.
|
| I understand that, while I am a scholar at SAHETI School, I must do everything in my power to honour the name of the school and those linked to it.
I acknowledge that I must at all times, do my very best to uphold high standards of conduct in order to become an example to others. I shall try, to the best of my ability, to remain loyal to SAHETI School and respect those in authority. |
