Second league win for SAHETI
SAHETI’s First XV rugby team won the Golden Lions Super 12 Kudu League for the second consecutive year, beating Benoni High School 8-6 in the finals. The team is coached by Golie Gouws, head coach of the U/18 Lions Craven Week side for 2009 and 2010. The Kudu League was established in 2005 for schools that have four or less rugby teams and do not participate in the Beeld trophy competition. Benoni High won the U/14, U/15 and U/16 age groups, but were beaten by SAHETI at First Team level. The fixture was hosted by Benoni High and was a typical final, played in extreme weather conditions. SAHETI emphasized their determination towards the end by absorbing a lot of pressure from Benoni in the form of one attack after the other on their goal line. SAHETI’s Nicholas Christodoulou scored the only try of the match, and the rest of the points came from penalty kicks.
