KONGOS COMES HOME TO SAHETI

International rock band Kongos – which is made up of four brothers who are past pupils of SAHETI  – visited the school on Friday 20 January, 15 years after leaving for the USA. The brothers – Johnny, Jesse, Dylan and Danny – are sons of well-known South African singer-songwriter, John Kongos. They grew up in London and South Africa, and are now based in Phoenix, Arizona.

The Kongos brothers met members of SAHETI’s band during their visit to SAHETI.

The band took time out of their schedule to visit their old school, where they re-united with some of their past teachers and recalled fond memories of school life and friends. While at the school, they were interviewed by CNN on their experiences in the Kruger Park during the recent floods. The group will be performing at Tanz Café Fourways at a fundraising event for the George Bizos SAHETI Scholarship and Bursary Fund.
The band has been performing across the USA and South Africa to huge acclaim. They released their debut album in 2007 and are currently recording their second album, due to be released shortly in South Africa.
