The annual SAHETI Sports Dinner which was held recently celebrates and recognizes the dedication, talent and commitment to sport by SAHETI pupils who continually raise the sporting bar. Guest speaker Mr Bruce Fordyce, recognized as the greatest ultra marathon runner of all time, provided some inspirational and humorous “behind the scenes insights” on his experiences in the Comarades Marathons, while Theo Garrun of The Star Metro Sport, addressed the subject of ethics and morals involved in sport and education.
Vasili Tsaousis , a grade two pupil, who is moving to Switzerland with his parents who are diplomats presented the school with a Greek national soccer jersey which had been signed by the 2010 World Cup squad, as way of expressing his appreciation to SAHETI.
Awards were presented to the top achievers in athletics, cricket, golf, netball, rugby, soccer, swimming and tennis.
